Kindness Craft Video

Using the kindness craft page inserted in the back of the Series 2 Activity Guide, Emma teaches us how to make a Bible treasure box.

Before the video begins you will want to color your pictures. You will need to have a pair of scissors and glue for this project.

When you do an act of kindness or discover someone else who did an act of kindness, will you ask someone to help you email me at campcanoebekind@gmail.com?

I would love to hear all about it!

We can post it on our soon to be developed “Kindness Community” page.

    Hold on Tight!

I love this image of faith!

In today’s adventure video, we witnessed a physical example of the word `believe.’

John 3:16 tells us “God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten (super important word in Greek –  monogenes  means “one of a kind,” unique”) Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life! When translating from the original Greek, the language in which the New Testament is written, it often takes several English words to interpret one Greek word.  This is the case with the English word, believe.

The word `believe’, pisteoun, in John 3:16 means `to attach oneself to,’ `to fully rely upon.’    I love how Tyson’s whole, little body is fully attached to and relying on Makya’s leg.  Neither a foot nor a hand is touching the ground.

Jesus’ declaration, “Unless you become like a child you will not enter the kingdom of God,” applies aptly here.  Young children are great teachers of faith.  They know what it means to fully rely upon another human being.  Likewise, God, our Father, yearns for us to fully rely on Him every minute of every day.

What would happen if we took one day at a time and prayed, “Just for today, Lord God, I want to fully attach myself to you.  I want to hold on tight and go where you go.”?

Consider creating a `Believe Bookmark’ to carry with you throughout the day.  Simply copy the image of Makya and Tyson and paste it on a column in a word document (or whatever you use).  Write on it whatever the Lord leads you to write.  Keep it visibly before you throughout the day and delight in the amazing reality of His presence.

Lord God, we love You and thank You for loving us in a far greater way than we could ever imagine.  We want to fully attach ourselves to You. We want to hold on tight and go where You go.   Take the lead, Lord.  Take the lead.  In the sweet name of your “only begotten son”, Jesus, we pray.  Amen.
