MS. LESLIE’S LETTER TO PARENTS
In this troubled world, our children need help. The psalmist declares, “My help comes from the Lord.” (Psalm 121:1) The question begs to be asked, “How do we help our children get their help from the Lord, rather than the world?”
What’s His plan? Us. Scary, but true.
God in His infinite wisdom writes us His answer in His love letter to us, The Holy Bible. A book that is like no other. Set apart. Divinely inspired. Words wooing us to be in an intimate relationship with Him. Promises vowing to protect us, transform us, guide us, and lead us into the fullness of life. Proclamations declaring His forever love for us.
God knows our children desperately need to know His Love.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Take to heart these words that I give you today. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you’re at home or away, when you lie down or get up.
Deuteronomy 6:5-9
God is counting on us, the parents and grandparents of the children (Deuteronomy 4:9) , the lovers of His word, to be the livers of His word.
How do we help our children get their help from the Lord, rather than the world? Love His Word. Let His Word transform us. Live His Word.
Lord God, thank You for Your written words of love to us. Help us to take the time to read them, reflect on them and be changed by them. Give us the courage and tenacity to teach them to our children. We adore You, O Christ, now and forever. Amen.
